The ex-POW
Members of Gold Coast & District Ex-POW association
with kind support of DVA dedicated a plaque to all the
Doctors who served as POW's in hands of the Japanese
during World War two. The plaque was dedicated to honour
the Doctors for their unselfish duty and care of their
fellow POW's.
The event
was well organized by Mr Norm Anderton, MBE Honorary
secretary of the Gold Coast & District ex-POW assoc.
The weather was a big concern to Norm as it had been
bucketing down a few days before. He was reassured the
weather would be fine and it was, it turned out a bit
too hot. A good turn out by dignitaries, Ex-POW's and
visitors to witness the unveiling.
The function in the air-conditioned Burleigh Bowls Club
after the service was a great treat with great food
and cool drinks. Well done Norm!
