One of members, Keith Jones, has decided to test his skills against the all other artistically inclined veterans by entering the DVA Art Competition for 2008. Keith has been a member of our sub-branch since relocating to Burleigh Waters over 31 years ago. He has always had an interest in painting with oils.

Over te past several years he has turned his interest into reality producing several exciting works. Since moving into SandBrook Assisted Aged Care Facility, he has found a lot more time to further his interest. This has resulted in several commissioned assignments.

Reluctantly, but with some gentle persuasion from his son n the help of Chris Keating, Keith today sent off his entry. When speaking to Keith about his final decision, he said, "I chose this one as it displayed a greater level of ability in its complexity. Anyway, the way I look at it, 'You have got to be in it to win it!'"
