We knew that it had to come, sooner or later - a New Roof that
is; well, at least a refurbished one, anyway. What with the
fact that the roof was made up of aging asbestos sheeting and
with the reality that it seems impossible to stop the delightful
tenants and/or guests at the adjacent apartment block from delighting
in dropping large rocks through the roof, we were forced to
take remedial action so as to avoid a health hazard for all.
On October 3rd, the current asbestos sheeting
roof was encapsulated with a fibre glass membrane. With a bit
of the Irish, the roof should now last for many years to come
as long as it is not disturbed. Probably time to get the bible
out and start praying but we will start with crossing fingers
and toes.
