Yarraman and District Historical Society will receive $2151
to help upgrade the Beersheba room at the historical society
by including naval memorabilia and framing service medals.

The Coolangatta Tweed Heads Branch of the Vietnam Veterans
Association of Australia will receive two grants totalling
$7000 to help re-establish the Gold Coast Vietnam Veterans
Memorial Garden and memorial plaques in the Kirra Sports Club
and hold a luncheon in August to commemorate the re-opening
of the memorial.

The Queensland Division of the Vendetta Veterans Association
will receive $3000 to help hold a reunion in Brisbane in April
2009 to commemorate the re-commissioning of HMAS Vendetta
I in 1939 and the 1969 deployment of HMAS Vendetta II to Vietnam.

Robina State High School will receive $2000 to help install
a war memorial and commemorative plaque at the school to be
used by students on days of remembrance.

The Southport and Districts Sub-branch of the Vietnam Veterans
Association of Australia will receive $4671 to help install
a plaque at the Southport RSL Cenotaph on Vietnam Veterans
Day dedicated to 1st and 3rd Battalions, The Royal Australian
Regiment, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Battles
of Coral and Balmoral.

Servicemens Association of Australia will receive $1270
to help install a memorial dedicated to National servicemen

a display cabinet, and preserve and restore wartime memorabilia
to showcase in the cabinet.

Beenleigh and District RSL Sub-branch will receive $3254 to
help install security lighting at the Beenleigh War Memorial

The Pine Rivers Sub-branch of the Royal Australian Air Force
Association will receive $4000 to help install a display cabinet
at the sub-branch to showcase wartime memorabilia including
mannequins wearing RAAF uniforms.

Centre will receive $3000 to help hold a luncheon in Surfers
Paradise in October to commemorate the 90th anniversary of
the end of World War I.

Federation of Australia will receive $960 to help hold a memorial
service to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Battles
of Fire Support Bases Coral and Balmoral.

will receive $3636 to preserve the commemorative propeller
at the RAAF Memorial Grove.

Morshead Home for Veterans and Other Aged Persons will receive
$3000 towards a project to collect oral histories from veterans

to help hold a memorial day at the Australian War Memorial
to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Berlin.

help purchase eight unit flags and holders for 2nd Australian
Imperial Force Units to use in marches and days of commemoration.

The Cooma-Monaro Sub-branch of the National Servicemens
Association of Australia will receive $2270 to help attach
commemorative plaques to war memorials in Nimmitabel, Bombala,
Jindabyne, Berridale and Adaminaby dedicated to all national
servicemen from the district.

Moree Plains Shire Council Dhiiyaan Indigenous Centre will
receive $1929 to help install a plaque at the Moree Cemetery
dedicated to all Aboriginal ex-servicemen from the district
who served in World War I and World War II.

an artillery gun located at the Shortland RSL Memorial Grove.

The Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia, St Marys
Outpost Sub-branch, will receive $3000 to help hold a commemorative
service for the 40th anniversary of the Battles of Coral and
Balmoral at St Marys RSL Club in August.

Sugarloaf and Districts Action Group, West Wallsend Cemetery
Committee, will receive $4000 to help construct a new war
memorial in West Wallsend commemorating servicemen and women
from the district who served post World War I.

Queanbeyan City Council will receive $4000 to help repair
and restore the Queanbeyan Boer War Memorial.
·
Goomeroi Aboriginal Elders Council Toomelah will receive $4000
to help build a new war memorial at Toomelah Mission dedicated
to Aboriginal servicemen and women.
·
Garden Village Port Macquarie will receive $3000 to help build
a commemorative garden with plaque and flagpole in the grounds
of the facility for use by residents on days of commemoration.
·
The Womens Royal Australian Air Force Reunion Group
will receive $1000 to help hold a final reunion at the NSW
Leagues Club in Sydney in October.

Woodburn Evans Head RSL Sub-branch will receive $3000 to help
expand the display area at the sub-branch to include new display
cabinets to house wartime memorabilia; and $2752 to help purchase
display items and mannequins to display military uniforms.

The Military Police Association of Australia will receive
$558 to help purchase a national banner for use at commemorative
events.
·
Wentworth Falls RSL Sub-branch will receive $4000 to help
restore and upgrade the surrounds of the Wentworth Falls War
Memorial to improve safety.

Dubbo RSL Sub-branch will receive $660 to help restore the
Wongarbon War Memorial located at the Wongarbon Public School.
·
Miranda RSL Sub-branch will receive $1850 to help hold a modern
history symposium for year 10 students. The symposium will
include veteran guest speakers and a photographic display
of various wartime events.

The Integrated Servicepeoples Association of Australia
will receive two grants totalling $5060 to help purchase display
cabinets to house Navy and Air Force wartime memorabilia at
the associations Veterans Centre Memorabilia Room.
·
The 30th Australian Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial
Force Association will receive $1050 to help install a plaque
at the Australian War Memorial dedicated to the battalion.
·
3 Transport Association will receive $3424 to help install
a plaque at the Australian War Memorial dedicated to 3 Company
Royal Australian Army Service Corps to be followed by a luncheon.
·
The Womens Auxiliary Australian Air Force Association,
NSW Division, will receive $1050 to hold a dedication ceremony
in September, and $1632 to help install a commemorative plaque
at the RAAF Memorial Grove to honour womens service
during World War II.
·
The Blue Mountains Vietnam Veterans and Associated Forces
will receive $3000 to help hold a memorial service at the
Springwood War Memorial in August to commemorate the 40th
anniversary of the Battles of Coral and Balmoral followed
by a luncheon.
·
The Rathmines Catalina Memorial Park Trust will receive $4000
to help extend the current monument and memorial walls at
Rathmines Park, Royal Australian Air Force Base, to display
wartime memorabilia.
·
Tweed Heads and Coolangatta RSL Sub-branch will receive $3000
to help hold a Vietnam veterans awareness display at the Twin
Towns Services Club in August which will include photographs,
maps, uniforms and other memorabilia from the Vietnam War.
·
The Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway will receive three grants
totalling $6333 to help replace vandalised glass panels at
the Menari, Macdonalds Corner and Sanananda Stations at the
walkway.
·
Avalon Beach RSL Sub-branch will receive $3000 to help install
a display cabinet at the sub-branch to exhibit wartime memorabilia.
·
Euchareena Honour Board Committee will receive $1955 to help
restore the World War I honour board and install a new honour
board to include the names of servicemen and women from the
district who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam at
the Euchareena Soldiers Memorial Hall; and $3000 to help dedicate
the new honour board and install a flagpole.

The Australian Water Transport Association will receive $1400
to help install a plaque at Charlesworth House on Bent Street
in Sydney. The plaque will mark the site of the headquarters
of the Australian Military Forces, Water Transport and Landing
Craft which directed operations in the South West Pacific
Area in World War II.
·
Murwillumbah East Public School will receive $1528 to help
install a plaque at Kingscliff Memorial Walkway commemorating
women in war to be followed by a morning tea for veterans
and guests.
·
2/6th Australian Field Regiment Association will receive $769
to help install a plaque at Rocky Creek Memorial Park and
$914 to help install a plaque at the Australian War Memorial
dedicated to the 2/6th Australian Regiment Royal Australian
Artillery, 7th Division Australian Imperial Force 1940-1945.

United Nations Police Association of Australia will receive
$4000 to help install a plaque and honour board at the Goulburn
Police Academy dedicated to police veterans who served in
United Nations peace operations in Cyprus and East Timor.
·
9th Australian Division Council will receive $750 to help
hold a luncheon at the Combined Services Club in Sydney in
October to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Battle
for Sattelberg.
·
The Milton-Ulladulla RSL Sub-branch will receive $2695 to
help refurbish the Ulladulla War Memorial at Kendall Cottage.
·
Port Kembla RSL Sub-branch will receive $1870 to help install
a memorial at the Koonawarra Public School to be used by students
on days of commemoration.

Seven Hills/Toongabbie RSL Sub-branch will receive $958 to
help install a plaque at the Australian War Memorial dedicated
to Ordnance Field Park 1966-1972 Vietnam Nui Dat.
·
Murwillumbah RSL Sub-branch will receive $3000 to help hold
a Remembrance Day exhibition titled Women in the Services
at the Murwillumbah Services Memorial Club in November.
·
The Dungog Sub-branch of the National Servicemens Association
will receive $2891 to help install a plaque at the RSL Memorial
in Stroud dedicated to national servicemen.
·
Marulan District Historical Society will receive $4000 to
help upgrade the Marulan War Memorial by adding the names
of servicemen and women from the district who served in World
War II, Vietnam and Iraq.
·
Endeavour Nursing Home will receive $1639 to help install
a flagpole at the home in Kogarah for use by residents on
days of commemoration.
·
Fleet Air Arm Association of Australia will receive $3000
to help publish a unit history of the Royal Australian Navy
Helicopter Flight Vietnam.
·
Operations Pilgrimage Group will receive $3000 towards an
event at the Australian National Maritime Museum at Darling
Harbour to commemorate the voyage of the MV Krait in World
War II, which was held on 1 June 2008.

Taralga RSL Sub-branch will receive $1507 to help replace
the flagpole at the Taralga World War II War Memorial after
recent vandalism.
·
The Far North Coast Sub-branch of the Vietnam Veterans
Association of Australia will receive $2750 to help hold a
function to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Battles
of Fire Support Bases Coral and Balmoral.
·
Bankstown Multicultural Youth Service will receive $3000 to
help run a series of community events with local school students
about Australias wartime heritage.

The Wentworth and Coomealla Districts Sub-branch of the Vietnam
Veterans Peacekeepers and Peacemakers Association of
Australia will receive $1700 to help hold a lunch to commemorate
the 40th anniversary of the Battles of Fire Support Bases
Coral and Balmoral combined with Long Tan Day commemorations;
and $1269 to erect a memorial at the sub-branch dedicated
to those who have served Australian in times of war, conflict
and peace operations.

War Memorial Park dedicated to the 7th Australian Division

from Phillip Island who served Australia in wars and conflicts.

by residents on days of commemoration.

the World War I honour board located in the foyer of the club.

Greensborough RSL Sub-branch will receive $4000 to help build
a commemorative wall at the club to honour veterans from all
wars, conflicts and peace operations since the Boer War.

$1040 to help install a plaque dedicated to soldier settlers
from the Ettrick Estate in Derrinallum.

a World War I illuminated memorial which was presented to
the mother of a local fallen soldier by 19 of his comrades
in the Victorian Mounted Rifles.

Australia will receive $3000 to help hold a memorial service
at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne in August to commemorate
the 40th anniversary of the Battles of Coral and Balmoral

help build a new memorial wall in Turriff dedicated to servicemen

of Villers-Bretonneux, France.

The Australian Legion of Ex-servicemen and Women will receive

commemorate the 50th anniversary of the commissioning of the
HMAS Vendetta.

The Port Noarlunga/Christies Beach RSL Sub-branch will receive
$3630 to help install 11 small plaques at the club displaying
all Australian Active Service Medals awarded for peacekeeping
operations.

The 9th Australian Division Reunion will receive $1250 to
help hold a reunion at the Mount Gambier RSL Club in October
to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Lae Invasion and
the Battle for Sattelberg.
·
The Survey Ex-Servicemens Association of South Australia
will receive $3900 to help install a Royal Australian Survey
Corps Memorial at the Pathway of Honour in Adelaide dedicated
to the men and women who served in the Corps.
·
The West Croydon and Kilkenny RSL Sub-branch will receive
$1964 to help restore the honour board at the club and add
100 names of veterans from the West Croydon and Kilkenny area.
·
The Mitcham Primary School Council will receive $4000 to help
restore 340 metal crosses dedicated to the 2/48th Infantry
Battalion which will be placed on the lawns on North Terrace,
adjacent to the State War Memorial in Adelaide on Remembrance
Day.

10th Battalion Australian Imperial Force Association will
receive $988 to help install a sign at the Tiger Simpson Cairn
dedicated to servicemen from Kangaroo Island who lost their
lives while serving at Gallipoli and on the Western Front.

Padman Health Care Springfields will receive $2283 to help
install a memorial and flagpole at the Padman Health Care
facility for use by residents on days of commemoration.

Gilles Plains and Hampstead RSL Sub-branch will receive $3000
to help install a display case at the club to showcase wartime

The Yorke Peninsula Veteran and Community Centre will receive
$4000 to help construct a waterproof shelter over a newly
restored 1917 Krupp Howitzer gun at the centre in Kadina.

to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the end of the Korean

help restore the Middleton and Flowerpot World War I and World
War II rolls of honour which were damaged in the 1967 bush
fires.

a 25 pounder artillery gun located at the entrance of the
club.

wartime photographs at the sub-branch.
