Retired Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-Branch Auxiliary President, Patricia Welch and current Auxiliary Secretary, Jeannie May McKenzie were both honoured by the Auxiliary and Sub-Branch with the award of "GOLD BADGE OF LIFE MEMBERSHIP OF THE WOMEN'S AUXILIARY" and "Certificate of Auxiliary Life Membership" at the Sub-Branch August Monthly General meeting today. The awards were presented by the Sub-Branch President, Chris Keating, with sixty-six members, six Auxiliary members and nine visitors present to congratulate both ladies. Pat and Jeannie were not aware of the citations and had no knowledge of the nomination being forwarded earlier this year and were most surprised to be receiving the award.

Both ladies have contributed much over ten years to support the Sub-Branch efforts in providing welfare services to its members and war widows and have been very active in supporting the Auxiliary and continue to do so. Pat and Jeannie are both very deserving recipients of the awards and we congratulate them, well done!
