Australian Defence Force members honoured in
Australia Day awards
|
| |
Today
92 members of the Australian Defence organisation were recognised
with Australia Day honours. Minister for Defence, the Hon. Joel
Fitzgibbon MP, congratulated all the award recipients for their
accomplishments and exceptional dedication to duty in the service
of our nation.
At this time of increased operational tempo it is not surprising
that so many Servicemen and women have received recognition,
the Minister said. It gives me particular pleasure to congratulate
Chief of the Defence Force, Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston on
being promoted to Companion of the Order Of Australia.
Air Chief Marshal Houston is held in high esteem as a man
of integrity who deeply cares about the men and women of the ADF.
He has shown clear vision and exceptional leadership during what
has been a challenging and demanding time for our military. Im
sure all Australians will join me in congratulating the award
recipients, and thanking all members of the Australian Defence
Force for their work on our behalf. |
