The Sub-Branch has just received a "Presentation Copy"
of a framed Print called "Caught on the Surface"
signed by the surviving crew of the Sunderland U, 461 Sqn
RAAF, the ANZAC Squadron and the Surviving Crew of the German
U-Boat U-461. The incident took place on the 30th July 1943
during World War Two. A unique piece of memorabilia presented
by one of the original crew members ex 414314 Warrant Officer
Horrie Morgan (Wireless Operator) and a Burleigh RSL Sub-Branch
Member. Our sincere thanks to Horrie and his wife Hazel for
this most appreciated gift which will be displayed with pride.
A limited number of 500 were issued in year 2000 and the print
is taken from the original painting by Robert Taylor.
