Sub-Branch receives Grant Payment for Hearing Induction Loop

 


Margaret May MP, Federal Member for McPherson, presenting Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-Branch President Chris Keating with a DVA Grant Cheque for $3525.00 at the December Sub-Branch Monthly General Meeting. This DVA grant has paid for the installation of a Hearing Induction Loop which had been installed some months earlier in the Burleigh RSL Hall. The Hearing Induction Loop is assisting hearing impaired Veterans that wear hearing aids to be able to clearly hear Audio within the precincts of the hall whether it be, music or meetings. From left to Right, just four Sub-Branch members that are benefiting from the Hearing Induction Loop, Jim Nicholson, Harry Gaylard, Kathy Nelson, Brian Williams and Alistair McColl, Margaret May MP, Anne Maree Grasso and Chris Keating C Dec.

The other twenty or so members in attendance with hearing impairment couldn't fit in the photo! Kathy Nelson and Anne Maree Grasso from the DVA VAN Office Southport join in to celebrate the event. They both are great supporters of the Sub-Branch and it's Members and were instrumental in assisting with the grant application.
