Services commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Black Hawk disaster will be held in Perth and Townsville on Monday, 12 June 2006. On 12 June 1996, 18 ADF personnel – 15 troopers from the Perth-based Special Air Service Regiment and three air crew from Townsville’s 5th Aviation Regiment – were killed when two Black Hawk helicopters collided during counter terrorism training.

The Townsville Service will be held at the Palmetum, beginning at 9am local time. The Perth service will be held at Campbell Barracks, Swanbourne, beginning at 10am local time.
