Saturday
3 Jun 06 commemorates the 40th Anniversary of the arrival of 9
Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force in Vietnam, with its Iroquois
(Huey) helicopters. A ceremony to dedicate a plaque commemorating
the anniversary will be held at the Australian War Memorial at
1400 hrs. As part of the commemoration, a fly past will be conducted
by a UH-1H Iroquois helicopter from the Operations Support Troop,
Army Aviation Training Centre. The flypast route will be along
Anzac Ave and past the Western fore-court of the AWM. After the
flypast, the aircraft will land at the AWM for a static display.
The aircraft involved in the flypast may be considered a Vietnam
veteran as it was operated by 9 Squadron during their deployment
in Vietnam |
