Our web-site records over 100,000 visits in less than 4 months of operation

"We have hit the mark!! As at 1810 hrs on 27th December 2005, we had 100,044 hits from 1975 visits and 870 unique sites were used for the visits so it wasn't just us looking at the site!" These words of jubilation were expressed by the sub-branch President yesterday as he noted the huge success of the Burleigh Heads RSL Sub Branch website.

The Burleigh Heads RSL Sub Branch web-site was touted as an idea back in June of this year by its now webmaster and sub branch member, Robert Jones. "This is the 2000's and the Internet is the way we communicate" he proposed. There were sceptics and the usual crew of poppy cutters but the Committee of the sub branch with the strong support of President, Chris Keating, and Secretary, Barry Miller, said "Sure, go ahead." And so we did.

Now, less than 4 months after the official launch, the proof is in the recorded statistics. 100,044 hits recorded at 1810hrs on December 27th, 2005. 1,975 separate visiting connections from 870 unique sites or Internet addresses. These statsistics say it all, especially as we have only 250 members with less than 50 of them connected to the Internet. Our site is not just a members forum but also a source of reference and information for so many others.

Congraulations to all who made it happen, who continue to make it happen by keeping it current every day, who use the site for a multitude of purposes and to the members of Burleigh Heads RSL Sub Branch who have truly delivered to not just Australia but the world a unique service in the true spirit of ANZAC.
