Proving that, in the majority of cases, consultation is better than confrontation, our sub branch was presented with a beautiful piece of art from the Burleigh Arts Group. The artist is Ryan Hingle who is studying at Griffith University.

Some time back, an issue arose with regard to the use of the Burleigh Heads Memorial Park by the Burleigh Art Group in an inappropriate manner. As one would expect, there was no intent of irreverence, simply an innocent misunderstanding on their part. Burleigh Heads RSL Sub Branch President, Chris Keating, and Honorary Secretary, Barry Miller, met with the Art Group and a suitable compromised usage arrangement resulted. The group now use the park on a regular basis whilst still maintaining the dignity of the location.

As an acknowledgement of the excellent working arrangement that has now developed, the Burleigh Art Group recently presented the Artwork shown here to the sub branch. The artist, Ryan Hingle, was on hand for the presentation to our sub branch president, Chris Keating. On behalf of the entire membership of the Burleigh Heads RSL Sub Branch, Chris expressed the sincere thanks to both the Burleigh Art Group and the young artist, Ryan.
