The
Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-Branch Web-site has turned out to be
a huge success! In the first three months of operation in cyberspace,
the site has had 85,252 hits, a total of 639 sites have had
1470 visits! The site has averaged 16 visits and 936 hits each
and every day in the three months of September, October and
November 2005. The
site is updated each and every day by our member and Assistant
Secretary/Webmaster in New York, Robert Jones.
The Visitors to the site have mainly been from Australia, but
also from America, Network, Not-for-profit Organizations, New
Zealand, Viet Nam, United Kingdom, Canada, Seychelles and Germany,
so you can see the world is no longer such a big place!
The range of visitors to the site is spectacular, hopefully
the RSL organization as a whole will benefit from the site and
increase overall membership, as there are still approximately
60,000 ex-service, regular or Reserves that are eligible to
join the League but, so far, have not.
The League will be celebrating it's 90th Anniversary next year.
So, if we remember the Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-Branch members
motto "Mates getting Mates to join", this would be
a perfect time to do our bit. If you have an ex-service mate
that isn't a member, take him/her along to your Sub-Branch to
experience what you do and hopefully to join. If we all did
that, our numbers would double over night!
One thing all current members need to remember, you are the
recruiting officer for the league. Through strength of numbers,
we can achieve great benefits for the serving and ex-service
community, whether they be a veteran or not!
I
hope all that have visited the site continue to visit and enjoy
the information it contains! And don't be shy, the site belongs
to all of us, so feel free to contribute if you feel that you
have something worth sharing.
