Kevin passed away peacefully in John Flynn hospital after a short illness, with his family at his side, on Wednesday 20th July 2011.

Kevin was a significant force after WW2 as the man that made it possible for the grant of land from the State Government to the Burleigh Heads RSL in 1953 and was responsible for fund raising for the construction of the current RSL hall in 6th Ave Burleigh. Kevin was elected Sub-Branch president in 1949 and served until the late 50's when he left the area due to his employment. Kevin rejoined the Coolangatta/Tweed heads RSL in 1962 and transferred back to Burleigh Heads RSL on the sub-branch's 60th Anniversary in 1999 where he remained a member until his passing. The current members have much to thank Kevin for and especially his determination in those early fledgling years of the sub-branch.

Kevin tried to be an active member but due family constraints that restricted him in many ways. The last few years Kevin's eyesight deteriorated and he moved into a retirement home with his dear wife Olive where she still resides.

Kevin will be missed by his wife Olive, family, friends and members of the sub-branch that knew him

Please try and attend to farewell a comrade and pay your last respects!
