Our above esteemed member departed this life on 26th February, 2010, aged 82.

Kevin transferred from Greenbank RSL - he had joined in 1996 - to Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-Branch on the 24th May 2006. During this short period of four years Kevin's health had failed quickly and he was unable to become an active member as he had wished. Kevin was an Air force man from the time he enlisted on the 1st May 1945 for World War service. Fortunately war service ended officially on the 2nd September 1945 and Kevin was discharged from War service on the 18th September 1945, as was the case in many instances.

Kevin had a short break and re enlisted in the permanent RAAF on the 30 September 1946 and served until the 3rd December 1976, over 30 years. Kevin saw service during the Malayan Emergency & the Borneo Confrontation in the 50's & 60's. Kevin reached the rank of Warrant Officer. He was most disappointed to be leaving the service in 1976 due to health issues.

Kevin will be missed by the sub-branch members, his family and his mates. Our deepest sympathy to Yvonne and all of Kevin's family.

Kevin's funeral service will be conducted by Heritage Brothers Funeral Services and will be held at the

on
Friday, March 5th, 2010 at 1400 hours (2:00PM Queensland Time)

RSL poppy service will take place.
