VICTOR ALEXANDER HALE
8 October 1934 - 20 November 2009

Ex NS-Army / Citizen Military Forces / Reserves
1951 - 1984

Our above esteemed member departed this life on 20th November 2009, aged 75.

Vic, as he was known to his friends, joined the Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-Branch on the 23 January 1998 after transferring from Tweed Heads/Coolangatta RSL where he had joined in 1985 after relocating to the Gold Coast from Melbourne. Vic served with the Victorian Police force and reached the rank of Sergeant for most of his civilian life sharing much of his time with the CMF, 34 years, where he reached the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2 and his trade was as a RAEME weapons artificer. Vic was a very active member since joining the Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-Branch and attended most meetings, Commemoration services & Funerals until just recently when his health started to let him down and he was unable to be as active.

Vic served as the Sub-branch Gold Coast District Co-Delegate 1999/2000 for one year. Vic felt he could be much more useful as a Pension Officer for which he undertook training and served as the Sub-Branch Pensions Officer from 2001 until the 15 February 2006. He shared much his time at the Currumbin Veterans Support centre until his health started to let him down in that field also.

Vic will be much missed by this Sub-Branch Committee and members and our deepest sympathy goes to Betty, Vic's wife, and his two sons. Vic was in the Robina hospital after a bout of chest pain and was due for discharge this morning but died suddenly at 3am this morning, 20th November 2009, to everyone's surprise.

Vic's funeral service will take place at the

Parkview Chapel of Allambie Memorial Park
Nerang-Broadbeach Road, Nerang
on
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 at 1100 hours

Len Cooper from Currumbin RSL Veterans Centre will conduct the service and also the RSL poppy service.
Medals to be worn!

Please try and attend to farewell a comrade and pay your last respects!
