WALTER CHARLES ESSING
11 July 1921 - 28 August 2010

Ex- 2nd AIF WWII (12 June 1940 - 18 Oct 1945)
2/11 Australian Field Regiment RAA


 

Our above esteemed member departed this life on 28th August, 2010 at 2245 hrs, aged 89
in John Flynn hospital with his family around him after a short illness .

Walter Charles Essing, Wally, as he was known to his friends, transferred to Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-Branch in 1999 and had been an RSL member since 1954. Wally was an active member and served on the committee in 2001 & 2002. He made a huge contribution to the Sub-Branch. Wally, in his time as a Burleigh RSL member, recruited his son, Allan, and daughter, Jan, to the join as both were ex-service personnel also.
Wally was a committed member right up until recently when his health started to fail him.

Wally will be missed by his family and friends.

Wally's funeral will be conducted by Somerville Funerals and will be held at the

Somerville Funeral Chapel
Nerang-Broadbeach Road, Nerang, QLD

on

Monday, 6th September 2010 at 1500 hours


RSL Poppy service will take place and be conducted by Mr Peter Bates,
a Victorian Branch member of the RSL and a very old time family friend.

44 Acanthus Aveneue, Burleigh Heads.
